Courtney Calderon

Courtney Calderon enters her 19th season in 2023 at the helm of the women's soccer program at Chapman College. The Chapman alumna has taken the Panthers to three NCAA Tournaments during her tenure and five SCIAC Tournaments since joining the conference.

The 2012 season was a banner one for Coach Calderon and the Chapman women's soccer program. Under Calderon's tutelage, the Panthers went 16-6-1 and won Chapman's first-ever SCIAC Tournament championship with a win over Pomona-Pitzer in the finals, earning its second NCAA playoff berth in three years.

Calderon followed that up in 2013 becoming the first Chapman women's soccer coach to earn 100 wins. Their 16 wins in 2012 were the second-most in school history.

In 2016, the Panthers made their return to the SCIAC Tournament and made their way back into the championship match after an upset of top-seeded Pomona-Pitzer. The Panthers qualified again in 2019 after an 11-win season - their most wins since 2012 - and made a second consecutive appearance in 2021. In 18 years atop the Chapman women's program, she guided the Panthers to 12 seasons at .500 or better, including being ranked in the Division III top-25 in 2007. She has coached 29 players to All-SCIAC honors and 18 players to All-Region honors.

As a player for the Panthers from 1997-00, Calderon served as a team captain and quickly earned a reputation for her tenacity on defense. In her senior year, Chapman earned a berth in the NCAA "Sweet 16" and tied for their best finish in the history of the program.

As if it wasn't enough Courtney served as the head girls' soccer coach at Katella High since 1998 and was an assistant on the Chapman coaching staff from 2001-03, helping to guide the Panthers to three more NCAA tournament bids and another "Sweet 16" appearance.

Calderon earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Chapman in 2001 and holds a master's degree from National University in teaching with an emphasis in educational technology. She and her husband Bobby currently reside in Fullerton with their three daughters.
